Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen responded, saying that Greenland has made it clear that it is not for sale.
“There is a lot of support among the people of Greenland that Greenland is not for sale and will not be in the future,” Frederiksen said.
Pierre Poilievre, leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, also responded to Trump's comments.
“Canada will no longer be a country of 51. Period. We are a great and independent country,” he emphasized in a social media post.
Plus, it's Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also walked back Trump's threat to use “economic power” to absorb Canada, saying there was “no chance in hell” of Canada becoming the 51st country.

Clearly, not everyone agrees with Trump's muscular style.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken, America's top diplomat in President Biden's administration, appeared to be eyeing the president-elect.
“I think that one of the basic propositions that we have brought to our work in the last four years is that we are stronger, we work better, we get better results when we work closely with our partners. don't say or do things that can separate them,” Blinken said Wednesday at a news conference.
Blinken predicted that “the opinion expressed about Greenland is clearly not good. But perhaps more importantly, it is clearly an impossibility. So maybe we shouldn't wasting a lot of time talking about it.”
