The estimated $1.22 billion jackpot has a one-time cash payment option of $549.7 million.
Winners usually choose to have the cash prize paid out as a lump sum, followed by 29 annual payments, rather than an annuity.
The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 302,575,350.

Before Friday's drawing, the last Mega Millions jackpot was won on Sept. 10, when a player in Texas matched all six numbers and took home the $810 million prize, the eighth-largest jackpot in the game's history.
A record $1.602 billion Mega Millions jackpot was won in Florida on August 8, 2023. It is the world's third-largest lottery prize ever won by a single ticket, just behind the two Powerball winning tickets worth $2.04 billion and $1.765 billion, both. who won in California in 2022 and 2023 respectively.

The next drawing will be held on Tuesday, when players will try to win the estimated $20 million jackpot, which includes a $9 million cash option.
