Mel Gibson laments California leaders are “asleep on the job” amid wildfires



Actor Mel Gibson joined a host of Hollywood celebrities calling out the Golden State's leadership during the deadly wildfires this week.

Since the fires broke out on Tuesday, California Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles County officials are facing mixed reactions from celebrities for not being prepared and responding to the disaster as the flames continue to ravage the area.

The wildfires have killed at least 10 and destroyed more than 10,000 homes and businesses.

“One always doubts that this can happen. One thinks that the resources and capabilities of men and women will be ready, that they will be able to deal with any situation that arises, but it is clear that people some were asleep, especially our leaders there,” Gibson said Friday.The Ingraham Angle.”

“But, you know, it's something they have to live with — but it's something society has to live with, and it's really sad.”

Gibson was one of the many residents whose house was burned by Wildfires are dangerous.

“It hurts. It hurts you so much,” she told Fox News host Laura Ingraham.

“I count my blessings no matter what,” Gibson continued. “These are things, and they may not be replaced, but they are things, and we are still here.”

Gibson told Newsom to “spend a little money on the hair gel,” noting that he was “very unpopular” with the executive leadership.

“California has a lot of mind-boggling issues about why they do things, and then in events like this, you look like – is it intentional? Which, it's crazy to think, but one begins to wonder if there is a purpose or not.
