Mike Rinderco-host of the A&E show, “Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath,” died Sunday. He was 69 years old.
Mike's wife, Christie Collbran, joined a post on Instagram on weekends to share information. The family photo included their son Jack and Collbran's son Shane.
“Rest in peace, my lovely, handsome husband,” Collbran wrote. “I speak for many when I say that the sadness and pain we feel mirror the depth of our unwavering love for you. Your courage, bravery, and loyalty are unmatched and will inspire us forever.”

He continued, “You have been a pillar of stability in our lives, filling our days with your strength, wisdom, love, laughter and devotion. The world will remember you. My best friend, my hero by, my love, Michael John Rinder.”
Collbran went on to share “these last words according to Mike's wishes,” which were also included in last blog post entitled, “Farewell.” The post first appeared on his website on Sunday.
“You have been a pillar of stability in our lives, filling our days with your strength, wisdom, love, laughter and devotion.”
Rinder said his website “has been a labor of love,” before adding, “I've been lucky – to live two lives in one life. The second is the happiest age a person can have.” All the best to you and my new family!”

He continued, “My only real regret is that I didn't achieve what I said I wanted to do – to end the abuse of Scientology, especially the cutting, and to see Jack become a human being.” great. – don't ever give up.”

At the end of the post, Rinder wrote, “Let the flowers grow and look to the future… With that, I rest in peace.” His last words were a quote from Cicero: “The life of the dead is placed in the memory of the living.”

A cause of death was not given for Rinder, but in a blog post shared in June 2023, he announced that he had been diagnosed with advanced esophageal cancer. In October, Rinder announced that his “recent scan showed no cancer” and “the treatment is working.”

Rinder was a member of the association of The Church of Scientology since he was five years old, but left the church in 2007, in his website bio.
He wrote a memoir, “Billions of Years: My Survival in the Advanced Life of Science,” as well as co-hosts his own podcast with “The Kings of Queens” actress Leah Remini.

Remember shared a post on Instagram during the holidays, visiting Rinder's family. She shared a photo, hugging Mike as he slept, and wrote, “I am deeply touched by the outpouring of love and care shown to Mike and his family.”

“Christie Collbran is an angel. As she manages her family, two boys, and loves her husband, she shows strength and grace that is a miracle to see,” he wrote in his letter.

Remini said of Rinder's sons: “Shane and Jack, you have been so sweet and strong for your father/stepfather. I know this has not been easy, and we are all proud of you. you.”
“As many of you know, Mike has been fighting cancer bravely, and your messages of love really cheer him up. Please keep Mike, Christie and their two boys in your prayers. They are around -surrounded with all the love and strength they deserve;” his post concluded.
