
Mongolian Prime Minister Luvsanamsrein Oyun-Eden resigned after losing a vote of confidence in parliament.
The vote followed the days of mass protests for accusations of corruption – fed by social media publications about the lavish party and his son's engagement.
Oyun-Ardene, who took office in 2021, will remain like a prem PM until a heir is appointed within 30 days.
“It was an honor for me to serve my country and people in times of difficulties, including pandemics, wars and tariffs,” he said after the vote.
He had to stand up until he had broken down by the majority, or 64 from Parliament in 126 places. About 82 MPs participated in the secret vote, 44 of whom voted for Oyun-Erdon while 38 voted against him.
Hundreds of protesters, many of whom were young people, took to the streets two weeks before the vote, requiring Oyun-Arden's resignation.
