Musk's Doge member resigned after reports of racist posts

A young member of the newly formed Government Efficiency Department of Elon Musk resigned after being linked to a racist account in social media.

The White House confirmed on Friday that the 25 -year -old Marco Elez resigned, although he did not specify why.

Media messages tied the 25-year-old Elez, who previously worked for Musk's SpaceX Company, in an already deleted social media account that promotes racism and eugenics.

Musk himself acknowledged the departure by posting a survey of the X, the social media platform he possesses, asking his followers whether he should return the Dodge employee, who made “inappropriate statements through an already deleted nickname.”

Dodge played a significant role in the dizzying start of Donald Trump's second term, including the dismantling of the US Agency for Foreign Aid.

On Friday, President Trump said he had instructed Musk and his agency to look at the abbreviations of the Pentagon and the Ministry of Education.

At a press conference with the Japanese Prime Minister, he said that “everything is fertile” for Dogetta supervision and cost reduction.

Asked about the resignation of Mr. Elez from the agency, Trump said he did not know much about the posts, but that he trusted Vice President JD Vance on the matter.

The Vice President said earlier in the day when the young employee had to get a second chance.

Writing to X, Vance said that until he agreed “with some of Essa's publications … I don't think the stupid activity on social media should ruin the life of the child.”

The mixed account associated with G -N Elez – for the first time, reported by Wall Street Journal – publishes various ignition comments that were checked as authentic by BBC.

“Just for the protocol, I was a racist before it was cool,” read a publication from the nickname account in July.

Another post from the account in September said, “You can't pay me to get married outside my ethnicity.”

“Normalize Indian hatred,” another post said this month.

All publications have since been deleted.

As of Friday morning, more than 385,000 people seem to have participated in Musk's poll to recharge Mr. Elez, although it does not mention it by name.

So far, 78% have voted in support of its return.

In response to a user who said that Musk should talk to G -n Eles “about racist things. It's not cool, “the billionaire replied,” True. ”

Mr. Essa's resignation comes against the background of Doge's increasing control, the government consultative group to reduce costs created by Trump.

On Thursday, an American referee reached an obstacle to one of these initiatives, suspending a plan to offer stimuli to millions of federal workers who voluntarily resign this month.

Musk supported the efforts to dismantle USAID, the government agency responsible for international development. All, except a handful of main staff – a workforce of about 10,000 people – must be put on administrative leave at midnight on Friday, including thousands based abroad.
