Hisense unveiled its latest L9 series laser TV, the L9Q, at CES 2025. The “TV” (an ultra-short throw laser projector paired with a screen) comes in one of five screen sizes: from 100 to 150 inches. The L9Q is the first in the series to feature automatic screen alignment, making it easier to transition when projecting onto a different screen size.
The L9Q uses Hisense's proprietary Triple Laser Light Processor, which helps the TV achieve 110 percent of the BT.2020 (also known as Rec. 2020) color space—a good sign for lifelike colors that pop. This model also has increased brightness over previous models, with up to 5,000 lumens and a contrast ratio of 5,000:1.
The laser projector's twin ambient light reduction (ALR) screen is available in five sizes: 100, 110, 120, 136 and 150 inches. (ALR screens tend to have better contrast and viewing angles in bright rooms.) In addition to automatic screen leveling, the projector has manual keystone correction to correct any proportional unevenness in the image.
Hisense claims that the L9Q is the first laser TV with 6.2.2 surround sound. He supports Dolby AtmosDTS Virtual X and eARC audio technology.
The projector has a “smooth black walnut bezel” with a brushed metal finish. It has HDMI 2.1 and supports Wi-Fi 6E and NEXTGEN TV (ATSC 3.0) for broadcast channels. It works Google TV and can be controlled Google Assistant, Alexa and Apple HomeKit.
Hisense has not yet shared a launch date or pricing information. But for the uninitiated, these premium laser TVs don't come cheap. retail price is at least several thousand dollars.
