Nvidia has introduced a $2,000 RTX 5090 GPU.


As expected, Nvidia Monday kicked off its CES 2025 keynote by unveiling the new RTX Blackwell family of GPUs. The heart of the line is the RTX 5090. The card looks remarkably similar to its predecessor, but now sports, 92 billion transistors; AT TOPS 4,000 380 ray-tracing TFLOPS and 1.8 TB/s bandwidth.

The 5090 delivered some truly impressive real-time demos during the evening's prime, featuring deeply detailed graphics with complex textures and full X-ray imaging.

The new premium GPU from Nvidia claims to more than 2x the performance of the 4090.

The RTX 5090 runs around $2,000. RTX 8050, 5070 Ti and 5070 for $999; $749 and $549 respectively. Indeed, There will be laptops using the 5070 that cost hundreds more than the standalone 5090.

The 50 series, the company says, “offers breakthroughs in AI-driven rendering, including neural shading, digital human techniques, geometry and lighting.”

If you want to pick up a laptop with a top-of-the-line Blackwell GPU; It will be available starting under $3,000.

5090, Laptops featuring the 5080 and 5070 Ti will be available in March. RTX 5070 laptops arrive next month. Acer Asus Dell, HP Lenovo, MSI and Razer. All notebooks are designed to include GPUs.

After years of supply chain issues and AI-driven demand growth, CEO Jensen Huang insists that Nvidia is now out on the manufacturing front.

“Blackwell, the engine of AI, PC gamers; It's here for developers and creatives,” added the executive. “Combining AI-driven neural rendering and ray tracing, Blackwell is the most significant computer graphics innovation since we introduced programmable shading 25 years ago.”

“We used GeForce to enable AI,” Huang said, “and now AI is revolutionizing GeForce.”
