A video of an Ola cab driver watching Omelet making tutorials and Bigg Boss reels while driving on a busy road in Mumbai has gone viral on social media. The footage has raised safety concerns as incidents involving distracted drivers are increasingly highlighted online. The passenger who recorded the video posted it on website X, accusing the driver of reckless behavior and endangering his life.
“Dear Ola, your driver is risking our lives and learning to cook an omelette while driving. Your scooter is already on fire, I hope you take the right steps before this too burns to ashes soon,” Rohan Kule, with the caption below Video shared.
The video, captured by Kule from the back seat, shows the driver placing his phone next to the steering wheel and playing a reel of him making an omelette. The driver swipes up to play the next video, which includes clips from the TV show Bigg Boss, all while continuing to drive.
Criticizing the driver's behavior, Khule also created a stir at Ola, pointing to recurring problems with their scooters catching fire, sparking a number of customer complaints.
The viral video caught the attention of the Mumbai Police, who responded to Khule's post on X. “Please share the exact location so that we can inform @MTPHereToHelp. If the address you provided is not sufficient, we request you to send us the complete address,” Mumbai Police wrote.
Following the viral spread of the video, Ola Support contacted Khule's post and sought additional information about the cab driver to investigate the incident. “We are thinking deeply about this matter Rohan. Kindly share this ride via CRN DM so that we can investigate and assist you as soon as possible,” they said.
