
One man died and two police officers were injured after an attack with a knife in the French city of Mulkhaus.
The suspect was arrested at the scene.
The man seriously hurt two police officers, one on the neck and one in the chest. Observer tried to intervene and was killed.
The suspect is a 37-year-old Algeria, who was the subject of a deportment order, as he was on a list of terrorism monitoring, according to the local prosecutor. The prosecutor opened an investigation into terrorists as the suspect was calling Allahu Akbar.
The incident took place in a demonstration in support of Congo, where police officers were patrol.
“The horror has taken over our city,” said Mulhaus Mayor Michele Lutz on Facebook.
The Interior Minister Bruno Deptile is expected to visit the scene on Saturday night.
