Opening Christmas celebrations in France

Join France 24 as we take a look at how we celebrate “Noël”, or Christmas, in France. The French have a big family lunch on Christmas Day, but the big event actually happens on Christmas Eve. Called “réveillon de Noël”, it involves eating traditional French dishes such as oysters, foie gras, turkey stuffed with chestnuts and a delicious log-shaped cake.
