Celebrity restaurants have become quite the rage among foodies and social media users not only because of the popularity of their owners but also because of their mind-boggling prices.
A social media user recently called out Virat Kohli's One8 Commune for selling sub-par food at exorbitant prices. The user shared a picture of a corn starter at a very low price and wrote on X: “Paid 525 rupees for this today at One8 Commune (sic).”
The social media post divided netizens with some questioning the user as to why she ordered the food item. Others, however, agreed with the user and said that the launcher actually looks underpowered given the price point.
A user wrote: “Kyung kia order! Menu me likha hota hai na”. “Officially, you're rich,” said a second user. “Knew this before you ordered so stop crying,” a third user commented.
“The “community” you created paid for One8 🙂 ~ the people hanging around, the music, the vibe… comes with high rents, higher than average staff pay, etc,” one user explained.
“6th wicket looks like salad,” said one user. “Fantastic ghost (sic),” another user noted.
“Bhai ngl doesn't look very attractive either,” commented another user. “I didn't like the place. First, they have some problem with chappals (birkenstocks). Second, every food we had was low. The price did not justify the product,” another user wrote.
However, Sneha was not the only user who shared her grouse with One8 Commune. Another user, Sumuk Rao, criticized the fact that he was not allowed to enter the restaurant because he was wearing sandals.
He added that the restaurant did not have a physical menu and most of the dishes they ordered tasted similar to what is available in many pubs.
“A lot of the food is pub-like. The hummus is good. Jackfruit tacos are tortillas with jackfruit chips. Lol. Terrible. The mushroom dimsum is good, and the pizza is good. But I've had better food. They don't even have vegan options for cheap.
