TripAdvisor has entered into an agreement with Perplexity to bring a human touch to the hotel information provided by the AI company. With this deal, hotel search listings on Perplexity will now include a summary of information from TripAdvisor explaining why they were included in the results. TripAdvisor ratings, bonuses and images will also appear on Perplexity.
“On the Tripadvisor side, they provide an up-to-date, trusted source of information that we sync regularly,” said Perplexity co-founder Johnny Ho. . “We index on the fly and get the right results based on the user's intent in the query.”
The results of this partnership are already available on Perplexity's website and will soon be available on the company's mobile apps. According to the press release, the companies will continue to enhance their collaboration over the next three years. The deal likely resulted in a lot of money changing hands, but no financial details were disclosed.
