While NVIDIA, Apple, Google, Microsoft, Openai and Meta companies are in the race to develop new AI models and technologies, Sony's efforts seem to be aimed at improving play and giving players to their games to communicate with characters or get their leadership.

Previous reports, mainly based on Sony's patent files, have suggested that the company is developing assistants for AI that will provide guidance or assistance for gaming players. These efforts look similar to those of Nvidia and Microsoft with InWorld AI.

AI's characters could bring challenges

Nick Young, CEO and co-founder of OhAn AVVART -AVATRY AIVARI and other identity contents platform said Sony's move could boost the game of his games, especially those with an open world.

“We've probably all played the main story of Skyrim, half a dozen times, and while there are always new quires and discoveries, in the end the repetitive dialogue on dialogue moves away from the novelty,” Young told Fenn. “Instead, if those characters could give fresh dialogue every time, fully aware and respond to the specific actions and the player's story – it will make the unpredictability and excitement infinite.”

Young said the characters with AI can make some games to feel more personalized and break the mold of script trees for dialogue, making stories more unique.

“AI is an inherently unpredictable-His creativity and innovations derive directly from its non-deterring nature, which makes it a challenge for control,” he said. “Saving the right balance between boring, but controlled and creative, but unpredictable is particularly crucial for larger companies like Sony.”

He said the challenges would be in a guard about that unpredictability to make the players safe and to get enough computer resources to make AI attractive.

However, done correctly, AI can change the nature of these types of games.

“The magic in games comes from players who have truly unique, submerged, personalized experiences,” Young said. “Transfering from a pre -script NPC in truly intelligent characters is like a book reading to an open -world research research, again.”
