Police sources have identified 20-year-old Wes Raleley as a suspect in a sniper attack on firefighters in Idaho, according to BBC News US partner.
Two firefighters were killed and a third wounded on Sunday after a weapon fired at them when they arrived at a flame in Kenfield Mountain, right north of Core d'Aale.
Authorities believe that Rolev deliberately lit the fire to lure the first responding in the area.
Later, the police tactical team “located on a deceased man” – it is believed to be the shooter – near the place where the attack happened. Authorities are yet to comment on a motive or reveal how Raleley died.
“We believe the suspect has started fire,” Norris told a press conference on a late night on Sunday.
“It was a total ambush. These firefighters had no chance.
“We lost the Coeur D'Anene firefighter and lost a firefighter from the fire and rescue the Cototheli County.”
The third was “The struggle for his life, but in a stable state,” he said.
The first fire report in the mountain community was made around 13:21 PST (21:21 BST), which was followed 40 minutes later by messages in which firefighters were shot, Norris said.
The fire increased to 20 acres after being reported for the first time and continued to burn on Sunday night, Sheriff Bob Norris said.
More than 300 law enforcement officers from urban, district, state and federal authorities to the shooting, including two helicopters with sniper on board.
Norris said roles, allegedly, used a high -power sports rifle to shoot quickly at the first reacts, with officers initially unsure of the number of perpetrators involved.
After a one -hour shooting bar, the suspect was found using mobile phones.
It was unclear whether the suspect had taken his life or was hit by an officer, Norris said.
