The license allows Pony.AI to download tariffs for rides – without any human staff in the middle – in the key parts of the Nanshan district, a home for Tencent and DJI technological giants. The permit does not include traveling throughout the space, limiting them to such areas as financial subjects.
Pony.Ai has already conducted robotaxia in the part of the neighboring Shenzhen district and can lead taxis with human staff on routes that connect with the SHENZHEN international airport and the SHENZHEN BAY control point on the Hong Kong border.
Although Pony.Ai did not reveal how many robotaxes can work in the Shenzhen region, the company said that cars without driver can work every day from 7:30 to 22:00 local time.
Residents can reserve Robotaxi driving via the Pony.Ai application or mini-program in the Wechat message application according to the press message.

Pony.Ai also conducts robotaxia in the main parts of Chinese cities of Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, in total over 250 cars throughout the country at the end of November.
