Boxer Paul Bamba died suddenly a few days after becoming the WBA Gold Cruiserweight champion, his manager and family announced on social media. He was 35 years old.
R&B singer and songwriter Ne-Yo issued a joint statement with Bamba's family on social media Friday to confirm the news of his passing. The cause of death was not disclosed.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved son, brother, friend and boxing champion Paul Bamba, whose light and love touched the lives of so many,” a statement was posted on Instagram.

“He was a fierce but confident competitor with a relentless pursuit of greatness. But more than anything else, he was an outstanding individual who inspired many with his dedication and determination. during this difficult time as we work through our grief together.”
