A woman in Pune took a brave stand against harassment inside a bus on Thursday, slapping a man at least 26 times for allegedly touching her inappropriately.
The man, who was drunk, ignored the woman's repeated warnings and continued harassing her. Refusing to back down, the woman grabbed him by the collar and started slapping him repeatedly, shocking onlookers with her courage.
Priya Laskhare, a sports teacher from Shirdi, was killed while traveling with her husband and child. Priya then dragged the accused to a police station near Shanivarwada, ensuring that he was held accountable for his actions.
In the video, the man folds his hands in an apologetic gesture, his face clearly expressing regret. Lashkare, however, undeterred by his remorse, held his collar firmly with one hand and continued to deliver more than 26 blows. A few moments later, the conductor of the bus assisted Lashkare and also hit the drunk man several times.
After some time, the man was taken to a nearby police station. However, no officers were present when they arrived, and the police reportedly arrived at the scene about 30 minutes later. The man's wife apologized to the Lashkare and begged her not to pursue the matter further, eventually settling the matter without a formal complaint.
