Qualcomm Snapdragon X chip will be used in more affordable Copilot+ PCs


Qualcomm has launched a new platform that will make Copilot+ PCs accessible to more people. Snapdragon X, the brand's latest addition Snapdragon X series which also include X Elite And X MorePowered by an 8-core Qualcomm Oryon processor and integrated Adreno GPU. The company says it can run 163 percent faster than comparable platforms from its competitors, that its neural processor can perform on-device AI tasks more efficiently, and that it offers long (even days) battery life.

Apparently, more than 60 computer models based on this platform are already in development and production from various manufacturers, including Acer, Asus, Dell, HP and Lenovo. These companies are expected to release the first batch of Snapdragon X products early this year, with more than 100 models expected by 2026.

The devices will cost around $600, making them a viable option for many people looking to buy a new computer. These won't just be laptops – Qualcomm says buyers can expect mini PCs powered by Snapdragon X, and will announce more details soon. The company believes that Snapdragon X devices will be “a good solution for students, freelancers and consumers on a budget who need a reliable and powerful laptop.”
