BEFORE FOX: The Equal Protection Project, founded and led by Cornell professor William Jacobson, has released an in-depth report on the proliferation of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs at Ivy League universities.
In his comprehensive report, “Poison Ivies: DEI and the Downfall of the Ivys,” Jacobson examines the programs eight Ivy League institutions use and require for students.
“Ivy League standards are ours CriticalRace.org The project reflects the Ivy League schools' major efforts to follow the Supreme Court's decision on affirmative action, while maintaining DEI practices and procedures that promote the pursuit of racial identity. ,” Jacobson told Fox News Digital.

In his report, Jacobson shows how Ivy League institutions are rejecting the June 29, 2023, law. Supreme Court which states that race cannot be used to make university admissions decisions.
“Ivy League universities pretend they don't care about race but they do offer opportunities for essay questions for students to talk about their race,” he said.
“The Supreme Court decided to take action based on the conditions of admission to the university, but it is clear that the opinion of the court was the decision of the Equal Protection Clause that applies to other positions of the university.”

Found things
In his report, Jacobson found that at eight Ivy League universities:
- Four require DEI training in graduate programs (Columbia, Harvard, Princeton, and Yale).
- Six require DEI faculty or staff training at some level (Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Penn, Princeton and Yale).
- All eight have DEI offices at the level of institutions and/or departments.
- Five have a policy framework dedicated to DEI or anti-racism (Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth and Yale).
- All eight have DEI or CRT (critical race theory) topics in classes and courses.
- All eight have biased reporting systems.

Jacobson said he got that as for universities “pretend” they don't think about race, in practice, they often do.
“Ivy League universities pretend they don't care about race but they provide opportunities for essay questions for students to talk about their race,” he said.

“It is hard to believe that in an environment where the DEI is the dominant concept, which takes religious zeal, that race does not enter into the decisions of admission in fact, even if there are windows to provide legal cover.”

Brown University
The report found that all departments to Brown require a multi-year plan for DEI.

Columbia University
In their study program, students in Columbia they enter their “Inclusion & Belonging” program, which, Jacobson says, “includes concepts such as inclusion, diversity, equity, alliance and fairness.”

Cornell University
At Cornell, the DoBetterCornell student group has contributed to the development of a demand for education that focuses on topics such as racism, prejudice, colonialism and injustice.
In addition, Jacobson found that, in 2024, the Center for Racial Justice and an Equitable Future was launched to address anti-black racism.
Dartmouth University
All students at Dartmouth University are required to take a culture and identity class.
Harvard University
Harvard has The Office of Equality, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging, which also has an Independent Education Centre, aims to train faculty and staff in inclusive education.

Princeton University
Princeton, the report says, requires all staff, student leaders, faculty involved in student admissions and recruiting to take a culture and diversity class and DEI training.
University of Pennsylvania
Penn has a multicultural education requirement for all undergraduate students as well as an multicultural education requirement for all Wharton School students.
THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN MAY END THE DEI PROGRAM
By 2022, an Ivy League team developed DEI and environmental, social and governance data for business majors (ESGB) and focused on Wharton's undergraduate and graduate students.
Jacobson noted that Penn also has a program known as Projects for Progress, which provides grants of up to $100,000 for projects that focus on topics such as racism.
Yale University
Yale has a requirement that each school and administrative unit should have a five-year plan for DEI, Jacobson reports.

The Equal Protection Project addresses the challenge of racism. The organization has challenged more than 100 scholarships and programs that discriminate against white and Asian students at universities across the country.

“Fully meeting the non-discrimination standards of Supreme Court DecisionRacial attitudes at Ivy League schools need to change,” Jacobson said. “It's going to be a long process. The Supreme Court decision was only the first step. “
