Meta's sweeping overhaul of its internal and external policies this week includes removing tampons from men's rooms, according to a report.
CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced on Tuesday that the company will Ending controversial fact-finding practices and lifting speech restrictions to “restore free speech” on the Facebook, Instagram and Meta platforms, acknowledging that its content moderation practices “have gone too far.”
As of Friday, Meta has ended its major Diversity, Value and Inclusion (DEI) programs.
The New York Times reported on some of these changes on Friday stated“Inside Mark Zuckerberg's sprint to remake the meta for the Trump era,” he warned, “the consequences are just beginning.”

Along with removing transgender and non-binary customization themes in its Messenger app and changing its “hateful conduct” policy to allow criticism of gender identity, the company took an active role in changing the company's culture in the office, according to the Times.
At Meta's offices in Silicon Valley, Texas, and New York, facilities managers were instructed to remove tampons from the company's men's bathroom for non-binary and transgender employees who use the men's room and may need sanitary napkins, two employees said. , out of the men's bathroom,” the Times reported.
LGBTQ employees reportedly lashed out in internal sourcing channels, with at least one resigning, while others said they would look for new jobs.

Joel Kaplan, Senior Director of Meta Global Affairs Juma told Fox News Digital that the move to end diversity, equity and inclusion programs will ensure the company is building teams with the most talented people.
“This means valuing people as individuals, and sourcing people from a wide range of candidates, but never making hiring decisions based on protected characteristics such as race or gender,” he added.
Kaplan told Fox News Digital that the company has “a real opportunity now” when it comes to the timing of the meta-verification program changes.
“We have a new administration that is far from pressuring companies for censorship and is (more) a big supporter of free speech,” Kaplan said. This brings us back to the values that Mark founded the company on.
