- One person has been killed and five injured in an attack on a Russian plane in the capital of Kyiv, Ukraine.
- Ukraine's military said it shot down 60 of 93 Russian drones launched early Friday morning.
- Three missiles hit a house near the city of Chernihiv in northern Ukraine, killing one, wounding five others and destroying two houses.
- Four people were injured when the town of Sloviansk was bombed near the battle line in the Donetsk region of Ukraine.
- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia launched 300 drones and 20 missiles at Ukrainian targets in the first three days of 2025.

Nature
- Oil from two old and damaged Russian tankers was found on the shores of Sevastopol, Moscow's largest city that was annexed by Crimea on Friday, according to officials. The ships were hit by a storm last month, causing one to capsize and the other to sink, spilling 2,400 tons of oil into the surrounding waters.
