Ten dead, dozens injured after driver plows into crowd on Bourbon Street: report



At least 10 people are reported dead and dozens injured after a driver reportedly plowed into a crowd on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, according to authorities.

The driver reportedly got out of the car and fired a weapon after hitting the crowd. It was reported that there was a large police presence in the area.

“There has been a mass casualty incident at Canal and Bourbon Streets. Stay away from the area,” NOLA Ready announced on social media.

“District 8 is currently working on a multiple-injury incident involving a vehicle that plowed into a large crowd at Canal and Bourbon Streets,” city officials said.

The NOLA City website says 30 injured patients were transported by NOEMS and 10 people were killed.

The incident happened around 3:15 a.m. at the intersection of Bourbon Street and Iberville, according to a local news station. WGNO reported.

The police have not yet confirmed the number of victims involved in the incident.
