Katy Perry and journalists Gayle King and Lauren Sanchez, who is also a billionaire bride Jeff Bezos, underwent final preparations on Monday before they blew up into space on the Blue Origin rocket on Monday.
According to the Blue Origin website, the launch window is to be opened at 9:30 ET. The rocket will blow up from the West Texas premiere site in West Texas.
The mission has been consisting of the first air crew for over six decades. Other crew members are Aisha Bowe astrophysicist, activist and Bioastronautics researcher Amanda Nguyen and filmmaker Kerianne Flynn.
The new Shepard rocket, an 18-meter spacecraft, will move the crew to the Kármán line, the world's limit of space, without Blue Origin, in a statement published on February 27.
Passengers will survive a few minutes of microgravity before they return to earth through a parachute -assisted landing in the western desert with Texas.
This is the 11th human flight for the rocket and its 31st in the general classification. The last registered space flight was the solo mission of the Soviet cosmonaut in 1963 Valentina Tereshkov, the first woman in space.
