Good question!
First, a little bit for me: I'm not a light engineer, but I've tested and looked at CNET lamps for more than five years. It includes hundreds of hours in our home-made air-controlled lab-controlled lab equipped with A. spectrometer and an Integrating the sphere It allows us to perform the most dire and accurate bulb tests we can perform. I also visited and wrote features for major lighting manufacturers in North America, such as Cris and GA, to get a better understanding of their methods and standards. This is one of the numerous LEDs buying and reviews that we are trying to update as often as possible.

We load every bulb we test in the center of our integration sphere – a large, hollow ball with a special, reflective color that bets the interior. Our spectrometer eksira through a small hole from the side of the sphere, with “confusion” that blocks it from viewing directly into the bulb. Instead, the light bulb light regrets around, allowing our spectrometer to take reliable, calibrated measurements for things such as brightness and color temperature.
We announce those light measurements every 10 minutes for 90 minutes, and then we eventually read. At that point, I connect the power cord to the sphere in a variety of darkening switches, and then measure the average maximum and minimal settings for all of them, while guiding careful trembling or buzz.
Once the bulb we test will be done in the laboratory, we carefully look at things such as the spread of light, tone and color quality. Our photo and video team (Tyler Liseny, Chris Monroe and Vanessa Salas here in Louisville) were huge help, with a standardized photo that allows us to look at the really heavy metrics. They are also really damaged well in photographing lamps.
All this said, the most important thing is what I think when I take readings in our lighting laboratory – this is what you and your family are thinking after you glue the lamps and include them in your living room or other area. As I said, LEDs how these are designed to be durable and waterproof and last years, so it's worth buying those you actually want to live. These days you have very good options, so there is really no need for compromise. I'm just here to help you find those “proper” lamps a little faster – or more efficient, you can say.
