The ceasefire between Hamas and Israel is expected to take effect on Sunday at 8:30 a.m. local time, according to Qatar's foreign ministry.

Qatar's Foreign Minister Majid al-Ansari urged people to be careful when the ceasefire begins and to wait for instructions from the authorities. This is the second ceasefire during the war.

The Israeli Cabinet approved an agreement early Saturday morning for a cease-fire in Gaza that would include the release of many hostages and a cease-fire with Hamas that began after the terrorist group's attack on Oct. 7. 2023, in the Jewish State.

The deal will allow 33 hostages to be released in the next six weeks, in exchange for hundreds of Palestinians imprisoned by Israel. The remaining captives are scheduled to be released in the second phase which will be discussed in the first phase.

Hamas has said it will not release the remaining hostages without a permanent ceasefire and a full withdrawal from Israel.

But questions remain about the ceasefire, including the identity of the 33 hostages scheduled for release in the first, six-week period and which of them are still alive.

Hamas agreed to release three female hostages on the first day of the deal, four on the seventh day and 26 remaining in the next five weeks.

The Israeli Ministry of Justice has released a list of more than 700 Palestinian prisoners who will be released in the first phase of the deal. The justice ministry said the release would not begin before 4pm local time on Sunday.

This is the second ceasefire during the war.

The Israeli military also announced Saturday morning that its Air Force had intercepted a missile originated from Yemenbefore the expected ceasefire.

Gaza is expected to receive humanitarian aid support. Trucks carrying aid were seen Friday parked on the Egyptian side of the Rafah border crossing into Gaza.

A period of 15 months the war in Gaza started when Hamas launched a surprise attack against Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, in which about 1,200 people were killed and about 250 were kidnapped, prompting the army to retaliate from Israeli forces. About 100 hostages are still in captivity in Gaza.

More than 46,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli attacks, according to local health officials run by Hamas, who do not distinguish between civilians and terrorists.
