The foreign ministers of Germany and France meet with the new rulers in Syria European Union

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot and his German counterpart Annalena Baerbock will travel to the Syrian capital, Damascus, to press for a peaceful political transition. Barrot and Baerbock are the first EU ministers to meet the new Syrian leaders and visit the notorious Sednaya prison since President Bashar al-Assad was ousted.
