The Federal Judge has blocked the Ministry of Government of Elon Musk from access to the personal financial data of millions of Americans in the records of the Ministry of Finance, according to court documents.
US District Judge Paul A. Engelmayer issued a preliminary order on Saturday to ban access by ordering Musk and his team to immediately destroy all copies of records.
This move comes after 19 general lawyers generally sued the Trump administration, after Dodge, an initiative to reduce the cost -led costs, gained access to the records.
They argued access to Musk, a “special civil servant” and a dog, which is not the official government department, violated the federal law.
There was no immediate comment from the White House, President Donald Trump or Musk.
The Democratic State Lawyers filed a lawsuit against Trump, the Ministry of Finance and the Minister of Finance Scott Bensten on Friday.
Engelmayer's order, issued early on Saturday, said the countries would “straighten” irreparable damage without immediate relief.
“This is due to the risk that the new policy presents the disclosure of sensitive and confidential information and an increased risk that the systems in question will be more vulnerable than before they hacked,” the order said.
The order restricts the defendants to provide access to records of the Ministry of Finance, containing personally identifiable or confidential information to special civil servants, politically appointed and other employees outside the department.
The provision restricts anyone else to have access to these records other than civil servants who have to do it for their work at the Fiscal Services Bureau and have passed the background checks.
In addition, the judge ordered any person among the restricted to immediately destroy copies of records.
The conditions will remain in force until the next hearing on February 14.
