Israel initially claimed that the troops had opened fire because the convoy approached “suspicious” in darkness without headlights or flashing lights. It states that the movement of vehicles was not previously coordinated or according to the army.
But later, he said that the account was “wrong” after a video found on a killed doctor's mobile phone shows that vehicles with lights included and emergency signals are flashing.
The footage shows that vehicles are pulling on the road when the shooting begins just before dawn.
The video lasts more than five minutes, with the paramedic saying his last prayers before hearing the voices of Israeli soldiers approaching vehicles.
He also shows that vehicles are also clearly marked by the paramedics carrying a HI-VIS uniform.
The bodies of the 15 dead workers were buried in the sand. They were not discovered a week after the incident, as international agencies, including the UN, could not organize a safe passage into the area or find the place.
