Do you feel it? There's an adrenaline rush when you press play at first. Compensation second season– We definitely do of it. It's been three years since the first season ended. And the truth is, we finally are. We're going to see what happens next. Give it a little hustle It's the kind of time you live for as a pop culture fan. The knowledge that in the next few seconds What you have been waiting for has finally arrived and Compensation Season two has finally arrived.
Then, as everyone had hoped, the launch episode has arrived. Maybe it doesn't have all the answers. But it directly answers all your questions and paves the way for a second season that looks like it will carry over to the first season. Let's discuss it (and if you're still not caught up), This article should do the trick.–
The second season premiere of Compensation“Hello Mr.. Cobel” begins exactly where you want it to, with Innie Mark (Adam Scott) waking up in Lumon knowing that his outsider wife (Dichen Luckman) is still live And let's say it's somewhere on that floor. Excitement and energy fill the frame as the camera follows Mark across the floor in one uninterrupted shot on his way to the Wellness Room where Ms. Casey works. But not only is she not there. There is no room either.
In the Macrodata Refinement office, Mark meets three new cut offs (Alia Shawkat, Bob Balaban, Stefano Carannante) who we later learn are from other branches of Lumon. Mark is basically a spectator at this point, and also I don't care about that at all. He just wanted to know where his team was and Mr. Milchik (Tramel Tillman) is happy to tell him.
Milchik tells Mark that it has been five months since the baby was born. Waking up in the outside world for a short time. And that was a very painful experience for everyone. According to Milchick, their heretics had a reputation for being He called them “the face of compensation reform” and showed him pictures of them in newspapers. It looks like it belongs in some kind of parade. You will immediately notice that this report has been fully redacted. But if you pause You will notice that the report is called “The Kier Telegraph”. The New York TimesThis wasn't—clearly something wasn't right.
Again, none of this mattered to Mark. He wants an answer. The answer to questions like why is their boss, Ms. Cobel (Patricia Arquette), at his family's party? Milchik said she was fired because of her. She is “sexually horny” for Mark and hopes to join his group of innies and outies. We know that's not the case. But it was fascinating to watch Milchik spin all the lies Lumon fed. And Mark didn't have any of that. Mark also said that no one wanted to return to Lumon, which is why he was the only one to return in MDR. He didn't believe that and said he wanted to hear it directly from them.
This all happens in the first 10 minutes of the premiere, and things are just getting started. We have a timeline, answers, and feel the energy build between the anticipation of seeing the show return. And Mark's eagerness to know what was going on.

Mark returns to MDR and gets to know his new team a bit more, although he soon tries to sabotage them by writing a message supposedly from another Mark (Mark W. from Bala). Ban) told his outsiders to blow up the ground. The new group turned on him and Mark ran for it. He reached Milchik's office. Grab a powerful lecturer and begged the committee to bring his team back. It was a tense and exciting scene. Which is exactly the kind of rebellion we hope to see. But it didn't go very well. Milchik catches him and sends Mark out. Or as we think
Mark woke up in Lumon again. But this time he's not alone. Dylan (Zach Cherry), Irving (John Turturro), and Helly R. (Britt Lower) all emerge from the elevator one by one. Did Lumon really ask for them to come back? How did they get them to change their minds? We're curious, but really at the moment we're not interested. It's exciting to finally see friends and colleagues reunited. And as you'd expect They were all very confused. This is the first time they have returned since the end of last season. And they wanted to know what everyone saw.
To explain, Milchick takes them all to the newly renovated room—and the reader. We are not ready for this yet. He played the video for them, saying that from now on he would show it to everyone. It's a stop-motion animated story about their own rebellion. Titled “The Macrodata Uprising,” it's a great story for Lumon. It's an event that opens Lumon's eyes to how teenagers feel. And the result is “A multitude of reforms,” you might think, means “reform,” as in describing what everyone is doing. But of course this is not the case. Lumon's meaningful reforms are just new fodder. and distractions such as getting pineapple. It is the most ridiculous and ridiculous thing. The group was equally confused and shocked. with what we saw in the video But it's even more shocking when they say they have a choice: because of their actions. their innie Not an outcast will be given the option of whether they want to stay or not.
And finally it happened. After 30 minutes of information and tension, Mark, Helly, Irv, and Dylan got personal and revealed what happened to each of them at the end of last season. Of course, Mark revealed that Miss… Kobel knew him from the inside and Mrs. Casey is the (hypothetical) deceased wife of an unfaithful man. That shocks everyone. But it's not as big or shocking as Helly says. We know her outsider is one of Lumon's bosses, but she lies and says she woke up in her apartment watching TV. We also wonder if she's embarrassed by the truth. Or is this an outcast who is now spying on others? Irving immediately reached out to her. That's when he realized that part of her story—that there was a gardener working outside her apartment at night—was meaningless.

Irv is reluctant to tell anyone his story and runs away. Dylan captures him and learns that Irv sees the love of his life, Bert (Christopher Walken), but finds out he's married. The sadness was too much to bear. And Irv wanted to leave. Luckily, Dylan begged him to stay so they could work it all out together. And finally he agreed. Helly then vows to help Mark understand the whole situation with his wife. Even though they are interested in each other. And Milchik secretly reveals Dylan knew they were building a special room for him where he could see his outsider's family… But he couldn't tell. others about this
Basically everyone still has secrets. But most importantly, everyone chose to stay. And with the circle shot reflecting the beginning of the episode. Compensation The crew returns with a whole new purpose.
As for the first broadcast Especially after being away for a long time. Compensation Pretty much caught it. It returns us to this world and does not avoid tackling important questions. It doesn't give us many answers. and in fact Just asking more questions. But the full season is coming. We're okay with that.
Additional thoughts
- Is Keanu Reeves the voice of the Lumon building in the video? It certainly sounds like it.
- This episode is called “Welcome you… Kobel” after the screensaver message remains on what is now Mr. Milchik's computer He was obviously very angry. But it seems pointless Why is he so worried? What does that say about him? Does he just feel disrespected or is there something more?
- Miss Huang (Sarah Bock), right? How strange is it to have a kid walking around as a manager? And how wonderful is it that everyone will continue to raise it?
- Most new MDR people are an afterthought. But they provide a lot of interesting context. For example, we learned that one older branch had a different, more advanced version of Kiers' animatronics. And another branch was very deserted. That same body was made from a broomstick. (The video also reveals there are more than 200 Lumon locations around the world.)
- Irv reveals to Dylan that his outsider keeps painting the same hallway over and over. The hallway we briefly see at the beginning of the film plays the role of Ms. Casey's terrifying elevator ride.
- Ultimately, watching this episode, I think Helly is still her innie. But too ashamed to reveal the truth about her infidelity, she gave Irv a cursory glance when they were still in the hotel room. And later, when talking about Ms. Casey and Mark It seems very insistent that there is a difference between insiders and outsiders. We'll see how it all plays out.
