
Nora Anor, one of the most famous movie stars in the Philippines, died at the age of 71.
Anor's death on Wednesday was announced by her children on social media, but no more details were provided about the cause of her death.
“She touched the generations with her unsurpassed talent, grace and passion for the craft. Her voice, presence and artistry formed a heritage that will never fade,” said her daughter and actor Lotlot de Leon on Instagram.
Born into a poor family in the city of Iriga, Aunor has established a career in television, music and film for over seven decades. She was declared a national artist for film and broadcasting arts in 2022 – the highest honor of the Philippines of the arts.
She rose to the star position as a singer in the 1960s before moving to the screen, where she accumulated more than 200 credits in the movie and television.
One of her most memorable performances was in 1995. Flora Flora Consultation, a film about a Philippine maid, made by Singapore to kill her colleague home -made assistant.
Aunor won local and international awards for his image, along with dozens of other acting honors during his career.

She is married to Philippine actor Christopher de Leon from 1975 to 1996 and they had five children.
Her son Christopher Ian de Leon remembered her mother as a “source of unconditional love” in a Facebook post.
“She was the heart of our family. Her kindness, wisdom and beautiful spirit touched all who knew her,” he writes.
Anor was soon seen in the television series in 2024 Lileta Matthias, a lawyer and a special Cameo for the musical Isang Himala.
