Kiev also said that Pyongyang's troops were deployed to fight Ukrainian forces in some parts of Russia's western region, where Ukraine was hit by electricity last summer.
“But there is a difference: North Koreans were fighting against us on the front,” Zilnsky said in a joint briefing in Kiev in Kiev on Tuesday with Belgian Prime Minister Bart DV. “Chinese are fighting the Ukrainian territory.”
Russia has not yet publicly commented on Zilnski's claim about Chinese fighters, nor has it clearly confirmed the use of North Korean troops in the region.
US Department of State spokesman Temy Bruce said reports of Chinese citizens occupying Ukraine were disturbing, but did not say whether Washington had confirmed the claim.
Bruce told reporters that China's supply of dual -use goods to Russia is a major official of Russian war efforts, Bruce told reporters, adding that cooperation between Moscow and Beijing is aided by global instability.
Bruce announced that the US and Russian delegations would meet for the second time in Istanbul on April 10 to discuss “fully” to strengthen bilateral embassy operations, but that Ukraine “is not on the agenda at all.”
He added, “This dialogue is fully focused on our embassy operations, not to normalize bilateral relations as a whole, which can be just as, as we have noted, once there is peace between Russia and Ukraine.”
