Flames shot out of the plane's wing as it landed at a Canadian airport and was captured on video by a passenger who noticed it outside his window.
According to the airport at X, the incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on December 28 on Air Canada Express Flight 2259 operated by Pal Airlines. This flight from Saint John, Newfoundland and Labrador, and landing at Halifax Stanfield Airport in Nova Scotia.
“Almost f—ing dead, guys,” Aden O'Callaghan said from inside the plane while filming.
O'Callaghan told Storyful Media that a “landing gear failure” led to the fire and also caused the plane to skid on the runway for more than 15 seconds.

Air Canada did not immediately respond to a request from FOX Business, but did respond Airline spokesperson confirmed to CBC that the plane experienced a “suspected problem with the landing gear” upon arrival. There were an unknown number of crew and 73 passengers on board. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is investigating what happened, CBC said.

The plane began to bank at a 20 degree angle to the left, and as this happened, we heard a very loud noise – almost like a crash – as the wing began to slide along the pavement. “I think it was the motorcycle,” said passenger Nicky Valentine CBC Canada

O'Callaghan told CBC that the day after the hard landing he felt concussed and had neck and back pain.
“Besides I'm fine, I'm still a little shaky,” he said.

The airport posted on X-mail less than an hour after the incident, saying all passengers had been disembarked and the airport was temporarily closed as they looked into the situation.
