“For places in this area that receive the most snow, this may be the heaviest snow in at least a decade,” the National Weather Service said.
The NWS reported at least 18 inches of snow near I-70 in Kansas, while parts of upstate New York reported several feet of snow.

Washington DC Mayor Muriel Bowser declared a snow emergency through at least Tuesday, while Maryland Gov. Wes Moore declared a state of emergency and warned residents to avoid travel.
