Theo Von attends Trump's 'dramatic' inauguration, heralds 'America first' era


Popular podcast host and comedian Theo Von described Monday's inauguration of President Donald Trump as “inspiring,” saying he “felt lucky” to be there.

Von, who attended a special viewing of Trump's inauguration at the US Capitol along with other prominent activists and business leaders, told Fox News Digital that being at the ceremony made him realize how he appreciates being in a free country.

“I felt blessed to see the inauguration. It inspires me, and it made me feel blessed that God has allowed me to live at this time in a country with voting rights,” he said.

Von won one of the biggest podcast interviews in 2024, taking on the then GOP presidential nominee. Donald Trump in the Aug. 20 of “This Last Weekend w/ Theo Von.” The comedy podcast is currently the third most popular podcast on Spotify's audio platform.

Culturally influential figures and podcast hosts like Von and Joe Rogan – who was also a special guest at the Inauguration – are credited with being there important parts to Trump's election victory.

In his statement to Fox, the comedian noted a few more details about the inauguration, including praising members of the First and Second Families.

In particular, he spoke of the historical importance of Usha Vance as the “First African American Queen,” explaining that “it was an amazing thing for them.”

“It's heartbreaking I didn't get to meet (Barron),” Von added of the president's youngest son. He also marveled at the presence of first lady Melania Trump, saying, “Melania looked beautiful.”

Von told Fox that she considers herself a “good centrist,” but shared that she spoke to one of the original messages. Trump's inaugural address.

“Time to put America first,” the comedian said, referring to Trump's promise to “put America first” every day of his administration.

The joker also pointed out several things he hoped Trump would pursue in his second term, namely relief for the Palestinians who are suffering during Israel's war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

“I wonder if Trump plans to help rebuild Palestine after the genocide there. I pray that we help those people,” he said.

Von said he also wants to see “more transparency in hospital and healthcare pricing” going forward.

The comedian also spoke volumes about his thoughts on the former President Biden's exit from the office he sent to X on Tuesday. Von expressed sympathy for the former president and reprimanded his captors.

He wrote: “Praying for rest and health this morning for Joe Biden. “May he find the rest and peace and rest he deserves. Imagine you are animating an adult who is very worried about your selfish desires. To me, it's clearly happening.

He added, “If someone DID do that to my father or my grandfather, I would be more alive (s—). We don't treat adults that way, but we we had no power to stop it.

When asked about X's post, Von told Fox, “It wasn't really a political thing. I'm very nice. I've never met Biden. I don't know what he's like. “

“It was just a human thing, I guess. I'm just glad he's going to have a peaceful life. That he's free now.”
