Three McDonald's CosMc in Texas are closing a year after opening

Three McDonald's CosMc locations are set to close.

The announcement of the closing of the three CosMc locations comes about 13 months after McDonald's began introducing the “small format, beverage with leadership” concept in the United States. It also coincided with McDonald's unveiling plans to add two more in Texas this year.

McDonald said The three CosMcs closing were “larger locations that were remodeled into CosMc locations.”

CosMc has grown to seven locations in the past year or so, first starting in Bolingbrook, Illinois. Six others have been in Texas.

“Since opening CosMc, we've had the pleasure of experimenting with different venue sizes and configurations – from renovating larger restaurant spaces to building smaller flagship locations that focus more on the drive-thru and digital experience,” the fast-food giant explained. “We've learned that smaller format stores allow us to test new and unique terms that reflect our customer base.”

The two new products coming to Texas will be “new smaller stores,” according to the company.

CosMc offers a All kinds of drinks Like Island Pick Me Up Punch, Churro Cold Brew Frappe and Sour Energy Burst. It also sells salty and sweet foods.

MacDonald said people have bought “hundreds of thousands”. Its mac pops.

“We're just scratching the surface of what we can learn about this growing category,” McDonald said of CosMc. As CosMc continues to grow, these trials will continue for the foreseeable future.
