TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew responded. To fight Donald Trump's comments About Friday Supreme Court ruling Ban the app in the US
In a video posted on TikTok, Chew said, “On behalf of everyone at TikTok and our users across the country, we want to thank President Trump for working with us to find a solution that will make TikTok available in the United States. . . This is a strong stance against the First Amendment and against arbitrary censorship.”
TikTok appears to be counting on Trump's support to maintain the Chinese-owned platform's legitimacy in the United States. Trump wants everyone to see him as the savior of TikTok. He posted on Truth Social where he was discussing. Chinese President Xi Jinping to find a way to save the platform
“We are grateful and happy to have a president who truly understands our platform, has used TikTok to express his personal thoughts, connect with the world and generate more than 60 billion views on his content,” Chew added. We will do everything in our power to improve our platform.”
Earlier on Friday, the Supreme Court ruled that the TikTok ban would be overturned. Currently, TikTok isn't sure if it will shut down the app for users in the US this Sunday or if the app plans to wait and see if it gets resolved.
