Tiktok is again available in US Apple and Google stores after President Donald Trump postponed the application of a ban on the social media platform owned by Chinese until April 5.
The popular application, which is used by more than 170 million US users, darkens last month in the United States as the ban is approaching.
Trump then signed an enforcement order providing a Tiktok 75-day extension to comply with a law prohibiting the application if it is not sold.
Tiktok did not immediately answer a request for a comment from BBC News.
According to Bloomberg, which first reported Tiktok's return to US app stores, the decision to resume its availability came after Apple and Google received assurances from Trump administration that they would not be responsible for authorizing withdrawal, and the ban was not responsible and be to apply more.
The ban, which was adopted by a bilateral vote in the congress, was signed by former President Joe Biden. He ordered the Chinese owner of Tiktok to sell the American version of the neutral country platform to prevent an outspoken ban.
The Biden administration claims that Tiktok can be used by China as a tool for spying and political manipulation.
China and Tictoc repeatedly denied these accusations. Beijing also rejected and rejected Tiktok's US operations.
The law banning the application was supported by US lawmakers on both sides of the path and was eventually supported by the Supreme Court.
Trump himself supported the ban on the application during his first service term, but it seems that last year there was a change in the heart during the presidential race.
He professed a “warm place” for the app, advertising billions of viewers, which he said his videos attracted by the platform during last year's presidential campaign.
When the app started working again in the US last month, its millions of users was sent a pop -up message which Thank Trump by name.
Tiktok CEO SHOW met Trump in Mar-A-Lago after winning the election in November and later attended his opening ceremony.
Trump said he wants to find a compromise with the Chinese company that responds to the spirit, not the letter of the law, even if it saves the idea of Tiktok to be owned.
“What I am thinking of telling someone is to buy it and give it a half to the United States, half and give you permission,” he said recently during a press conference on artificial intelligence.
And he also said he would be open to selling the application of Oracle co -founder Larry Ellison, as well as the billionaire Elon Musk, who heads the Trump Ministry of Management.
