Links: The sporting edition is out of beta now, making its debut Super Bowl SundayFebruary 9. It is a sign that the game has earned enough loyal players that the athletic, a place for sports journalism based on the Times owned, will continue to publish it. It does not appear in the NYT Games application, but now appears in its own Athletic application. Or you can continue playing it for free online.

Quick tips for links: Sports edition

#1: Don't catch the lightest group. For each word, think about other sports categories that can fit – is this a word that can be used in football, or describe scoring options?

#2: The second meanings are important. The puzzle wants to use surnames and even college names that mean other things to deceive you to think that they are words, not names.

#3: And the opposite is also true. Words like injuries may seem like a regular word, but it's also a surname of at least one pro -sport.
