Hunter Sorer, a transgender woman and star of the hit teenage drama of HBO Euphoria, said a new American passport listed her as a man, even though he had chosen a woman when he completed the documents.
“I was shocked,” a tiktok video showed in a video showing the “M” marker of his new travel document. Her previous passport listed her as a woman.
“I just didn't think that would actually happen,” added the 26-year-old youth, criticizing US President Donald Trump's policies on gender.
On his first day of service, Trump signed an enforcement order recognizing only two sexes and declares that they cannot be changed. Now the US depicts passports only with male or female designations based on sex of a person recorded at birth.
Previously, Americans can choose their gender for passports and also ask to be named “X”, for which the Biden administration said in 2022, offering as an option “for non-gravity, intersex and gender, which do not confirm persons. “
Shafer said she applied for a new passport after losing her old one while shooting abroad.
She completed forms showing that she was a woman, but when she raised her deputy, she pointed to her as a man, according to her publication.
Shafer said she intended to travel abroad next week and anticipated the airport challenges because of the new passport.
She said she believed it was “a direct result of the administration under which our country is currently working.”
Trump's executive order tells the male and female that “they are not variable and are based on a fundamental and indisputable reality.”
He adds: “Sex” is not synonymous and does not include the concept of “sexual identity.”
The US State Department, which issues passports, tells its website that it will “only issue passports with marker M or F that correspond to the client's biological sex at birth.”
After learning about Trump's executive order, a slap said her first reaction was, “I'll believe it when I see it.”
“I saw it today,” she told the fans.
“SHEFERS SIME SIME I feel important to say that it is not just to say – that it is real and it happens and no one – no matter their circumstance, no matter how rich or white or nice or whatever yes is – is off. ”
The euphoria star said she had changed her sexual markers for her driver's license and passports when she was a teenager, but that the birth certificate had never been changed.
“I'm almost sure it will come with the fact that I have to get out of border patrol agents and all this concert, much more often than I would like or really needed,” she said.
In the HBO drama, now in her third season, she plays a transsexual teenager Jul Vaughn, who has a complicated relationship with the main character Rue.
