President Donald Trump on Tuesday he signed a full and unconditional pardon of Ross Ulbricht, the founder of the anonymous market website Silk Road, which the president promised to do in the campaign “on the first day.”
“I just called Ross William Ulbright's mother to let her know that out of respect for her and the Libertarian League, which has supported me so strongly, I was happy to have just signed a full and unconditional pardon. of his son, Ross,” Trump wrote in a social media post on Tuesday. “The judges who tried to convict him were some of the lunatics who were involved in the modern-day effort to use the weapons of the state against me. Ulbricht was found guilty because his website, which was founded in 2011 and uses cryptocurrency for payments, was used to sell illegal drugs, although he did not sell any of illegal things himself.
