Ubisoft On Thursday, he announced that he was creating a new subsidiary of games with a Chinese technology giant Tencent Investing EUR 1.16 billion (USD 1.25 billion) per unit.

“He will focus on building game ecosystems designed to become really evergreen and multi -platform,” said Ubisoft in press release Thursday.

Ubisoft said that the Tencent investment values a new subsidiary of EUR 4 billion, suggesting 4x multiples based on average sales from all over 2023 to 2025.
“It emphasizes the strong value of IPS Ubisoft, significantly strengthens the balance and allows the company to continue their efforts to become a more agile organization, release the full creative potential of its teams and better adapt of resources with the constantly developing expectations of players,” said Ubisoft.
The transfer takes place after months of speculation about the future of Ubisoft. Ubisoft in January appointed advisers to review strategic optionsRumors about potential sales.
At the beginning of this month, Bloomberg announced that the game publisher wanted to introduce external investments in a new entity, including part of his basic intellectual property.

The news about the transaction also appears a week after the release of Ubisoft Assassin's Creed Shadows, the latest title in the best -selling series. The game met with generally positive critics' reviews, winning an average result of 82 in a metacritic place of aggregation.
