Ukraine said on Thursday that it signed the basis of a mineral agreement from the USA, although the details of the outline agreement have not yet been announced.
Yulia Svyrydenko, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, said that both parties signed the “Memorandum of Intent”, which was the basis of an agreement in which Ukraine and the United States develop the natural resources of the country.
“We are pleased to announce the signing with our American partners, a memorandum of intent, which paves the way to the economic partnership agreement and the establishment of the investment fund for the reconstruction of Ukraine,” ” Svyrydenko published on the Social Media platform X.
Svyrydenko did not provide any details about the outline agreement, but published photos of her and the Secretary of the US Treasury Scott Bessent, allegedly signing the contract.

Earlier on Thursday, US President Donald Trump and Bessent told journalists that a more comprehensive agreement would be signed next week.
“Well, we have a mineral agreement, which, I think, will be signed on Thursday – the next Thursday (April 24)? Soon. I assume that (Ukraine) intend to fulfill the contract, so we'll see. But we have a contract on this subject,” said Trump at a press conference at the White House on Thursday.
Bessent added that “we are still working on details. We appear on April 26”.
He asked for more details, the secretary of the treasury said that the contract was “basically what we had agreed before. But the president was here. We had a memorandum of understanding. We went straight to a great matter, I think it was an 80-page contract and this will be signed.”
