
Ukraine reportedly struck a Russian oil refinery and targeted Moscow in an attack that included a wave of at least 100 drones, one of the largest single operations of its kind during the war.
Video footage checked by the BBC showed a ball of fire rising above the refinery and pumping station in the Raizan region, south-east of Moscow, which Ukrainian officials said was a target.
Russia said it shot down 121 drones that targeted 13 regions, including Raizan and Moscow, but reported no damage.
Elsewhere, Ukrainian authorities said three people were killed and one injured when a Russian drone struck a residential building in the Kiev region.
Andriy Kovalenko, head of Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation, told Telegram that an oil refinery in Raizan was hit, as well as the Kremni plant in Bryansk. Kyiv says the facility produces components for missiles and other weapons.
Bloggers on the Telegram social media site posted images and videos of fires raging in Ryazan. Footage, verified as genuine by the BBC, shows people fleeing the site in cars as the fervor takes hold.
Russia's state news agency RIA quoted a statement from Kremni's plant in Bryansk as saying that work had been suspended following an attack by six drones. Pavel Malkov, the regional manager, said emergency services were responding.
The Kremlin acknowledged the attacks but made no mention of damage or casualties.
It claims to have destroyed 121 Ukrainian drones, including six over the Moscow region, 20 in the Raizan region, and a number over the border region of Bryansk.
Sergei Sobyanin, the mayor of Moscow, said the city's air defense intercepted attacks by Ukrainian drones in four locations.
He said the southeastern capital's air defenses in Kolomna and Ramensskoy had also repelled drones, without specifying how many. He said there was no damage.

Russian news agencies cited Rosaviatsiya, the Federal Aviation Agency, as saying that two Moscow airports, Vnukovo and Domodedovo, had resumed flights after suspending operations for some time. Six flights were diverted to other airports.
In the city of Kursk, Mayor Igor Kutak said overnight attacks damaged power lines and cut power in one area.
In Ukraine, officials said its air defenses had destroyed 25 of 58 drones launched overnight by Russia.
The Interior Ministry said debris from one of the drones killed two men and a woman in Khlevakha, Kyiv region, and that another person was injured.
