Ukraine reports many attacks on Russian drones after the end of the armistice

Ukraine the military reported Russian drone attacks in several regions overnight, just hours after the end of the 30-hour “Easter truce”, announced by Moscow.

The Air Force of Ukraine issued signals for the attack for the Kiev region, as well as Herson, Denpropetrovsk, Cherkasi, Miclovve and Procerns.

In the southern city of Mikolave, Mayor Olexander Senkevich said “the explosions were heard.” It was not clear immediately whether there were casualties.

The Russian military did not comment on the reported attacks. The truce, announced by President Vladimir Putin, expired at midnight on Sunday Moscow time (21:00 GMT). Both sides accused each other of breach of the armistice.

In the early hours of Monday, residents in several Ukrainian cities, including the capital Kiev, were summoned by local authorities to go immediately to the shelters of the nearby shelters due to the threat of drone strikes.

The BBC has not self -verified the claims of Kyiv and Moscow.

US President Donald Trump – who insists on ending the war – said late Sunday that “we hope Russia and Ukraine will make a deal this week.” It does not give more details.

Russia launched a full -scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022 and currently controls about 20% of Ukraine, including the South Crimea Peninsula, annexed by Moscow in 2014.

It is estimated that hundreds of thousands of people – the greater part of them soldiers – were killed or injured on all sides by 2022.

Last month, Moscow came up with a long list of conditions in response to a complete and unconditional termination of the fire, which was agreed by the US and Ukraine.
