Residential buildings have been destroyed in the Russian city of Kazan, which is unharmed.
Ukrainian drones have struck residential buildings in the Russian city of Kazan, more than 1,000 kilometers (600 miles) from the frontline, sparking a war inside Russia.
Russia's Defense Ministry said the city, located 800km (500 miles) east of Moscow, was attacked by three waves of drones between 7:40am and 9:20am (04:40 and 06:20 GMT) on Saturday.
Eight drones were used in the attack, according to Tatarstan regional government media. Of the six residential buildings that were hit, one hit a shopping mall and another was shot across the river, it said in a statement.
Local officials said there were no injuries. Ukraine did not accept the attack as part of its national security policy.
Kazan airport has temporarily suspended arrivals and departures, Russia's civil aviation authority Rosaviatsia said via the Telegraph.

The site is about 10km (six miles) southwest of Kurakhove, where Russian troops have attacked and are threatening to encircle it, according to DeepState, a Ukrainian military recording group.
