Guantanamo detainee Rida bin Saleh al-Yazidi has been repatriated to Tunisia, the US Department of Defense announced.
He was found eligible for transfer from custody after a “rigorous interagency review process,” according to a news release.
The Pentagon did not say whether Mr. Yazidi had admitted any guilt.
Since 2002 The detention center at Guantanamo Bay is used to hold what the US describes as captured illegal fighters during the US “war on terror”.
The camp is part of a US naval base complex in southeastern Cuba.
The Pentagon statement said 26 prisoners remain at Guantanamo Bay, of which 14 are eligible for transfer.
