Lumen, one of at least nine US telecommunications companies compromised by the Salt Typhoon hackers, said the Chinese hacking group was no longer on its network.
Lumen spokesperson Mark Molzen told TechCrunch that an independent forensics analysis confirmed that the company kicked Chinese actors off its network during the Salt Typhoon breach.
Lumen's approval comes after US telecom giants AT&T and Verizon. confirmed to TechCrunch. They also reportedly secured their networks after the breaches. T-Mobile; Another Salt Typhoon target; said last month. It says it has no evidence of hackers on its systems.
AT&T and Verizon said a small number of high-profile customers were able to access their communications. American officials said last week. It added that “fewer than 100” were targeted in total, most of whom were high-ranking US officials and politicians based in Washington, DC.
