Venezuela's opposition leader has demanded recognition of the army as commander-in-chief




Venezuelan opposition leader Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia, who is recognized as the president-elect by the US and several countries, on Sunday urged the military to accept him as commander-in-chief. The appeal comes amid disputed election results and his international campaign to challenge President Nicolás Maduro's authority following his January 10 presidential inauguration.
