Grewbub recently suffered data breach, exposing personal data to dinner, college students in delivery service Eating in campus program, traders and drivers, said the food delivery service over the Internet Earlier this week.
The source of the breach was followed by a third party service provider for the Customer Service Team of Granhub. The unauthorized party approached the names, addresses for E -SO, telephone numbers, types of cards and the last four digits of payment cards.
“After the discovery, we immediately launched an investigation, identifying unauthorized access to an account related to this provider,” the company said. “We immediately interrupted the account access and removed the service provider from our systems together.”
The internal investigation of Granhub has revealed that customer passwords are not affected by this violation, but some passwords with haaches are. Haspic passwords are wiring of random characters that mask the real passwords stored on company servers.
Food Delivery Company confirmed on its web site that the hacker made no Get access to trading information, bank account details, social security numbers, full debit or credit card numbers, bank account information or driving license numbers. Grewrhub did not respond immediately to CNET's request for further comment.
What can I do to protect myself after this breach?
It is unclear how many people were affected by Grubhub's breach. But if you use Grubhub and want to make sure you are protected, there are a few steps that you can take.
Look for a new credit card (or update your virtual card)
This violation was not accessed with full credit card numbers, only in the last four digits. However, if you had a saved credit card on your account, the idea to call your credit card or bank company and ask them to send you a new card by mail.
If you have Virtual credit card number Saved to your account, we recommend deleting that number with the card issuer and ask for a new one.
Change your password
Although only passwords are exposed to Grubhub breach, there is no harm in updating your account on your account. Remember to update your passwords on other accounts online, use the same login information.
You need to have a different password for each online account you create. If you consider this too hard, consider signing up for Password manager.
Watch out for phishing attacks
